Forget Kanye West or Pete Davidson—Kim Kardashian has a new partner in the spotlight: Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot.
The reality star and fashion mogul shared glimpses of her interactions with the bipedal bot on social media. In her posts, Optimus performs tasks like forming a heart shape with its hands, dancing, and playing rock-paper-scissors with Kardashian. While Optimus is not yet available to the general public, Kardashian’s videos gave fans a rare peek at Tesla’s evolving robotics program.
The highlight of Kardashian’s Tesla adventure was her time with a gold version of Optimus, which joined her in the futuristic Tesla Cybercab. The Cybercab, a two-passenger autonomous vehicle, is slated for production in 2027, though Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a history of optimistic deadlines. (His 2019 prediction of one million robotaxis within a year remains unfulfilled.)
In the videos, Kardashian describes the Cybercab as “insane” and “crazy,” though no actual driving is shown. Musk, who retweeted one of her clips on X, has not commented directly on her posts.
While Tesla wowed audiences at its We, Robot event last month with demonstrations of Optimus, reports confirm that the robots were not fully autonomous but controlled by humans. This raises questions about whether Kardashian’s interactions with Optimus were similarly guided.
Although Kardashian did not disclose the videos as sponsored—something legally required for influencers—her Tesla fandom is no secret. She owns a Cybertruck, though she recently made headlines for a traffic stop related to overly dark window tints. Perhaps Optimus could assist in resolving such mishaps in the future.
Kardashian’s playful partnership with Optimus hints at Tesla’s ambitious vision of integrating robotics into everyday life. Whether marketing or a genuine glimpse into the future, her videos showcase the growing allure of Musk’s high-tech innovations.
